SUMMER NEW WINE RELEASE AUGUST 2-4
Please join us for the release of three new award-winning wines. The dates are August 2-4 from 1:00-5:00 pm at the winery. You'll love our three new wines:
- 2023 Drizzle Pinot Gris ($20): Our 11th vintage of Drizzle has brilliant clarity and intriguing aromas of Bosc pear, Crenshaw melon, quince, Key lime, pear tree blossoms, honeysuckle, jasmine and wet stone. The flavors are laser-like yet viscous, picking up notes of grape and pear skins, melon rind and saline minerality, followed by a twist of lime zest on the pleasing, faintly honeyed finish. Pair with brie and crackers, summer salads, fresh ahi tuna, grilled salmon with dill, grilled chicken and grilled veggies. Production: 67 cases.
- 2022 Mistral Red Blend ($36): The 9th vintage of Mistral returns to a Grenache-heavy blend (89%) with support from Syrah (10%) and Mourvedre (1%). This blend displays a medium brick red color and rich, sultry aromas of cranberry, brambly currant, pomegranate, crushed roses, bright leaf tobacco, Provençal lavender, Niçoise olives and lightly spiced incense. The floral and herbal aromas really shine! The flavors are light but mouth-filling with warm red fruits that are intermixed with licorice, cocoa powder, orange pekoe tea and Red Mountain dusty earth. The wine finishes with more floral character. This wine could be slightly chilled for a warm summer evening on the deck. Pairs with spreadable goat cheese, lamb skewers, high wind warnings and sideways rain. Production: 48 cases.
- 2021 Squall Line Red Blend ($36): Our 8th vintage of Squall Line is a left bank Bordeaux-style blend featuring 48% old vine Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Petit Verdot, 17% Cabernet Franc and 12% Malbec. The wine has classic Bordeaux aromas of blackberry, cherry, black currant, crushed black roses, tobacco, cedar, rosemary and incense. The flavors are attention getting, with dark fruits that are intermixed with licorice, dark chocolate, French roast coffee and earth. The penetration continues on the back with roasted berries and nuts, mocha and pulverized charcoal, followed by a sweet-dry tannin finish. Pairs well with roasted or grilled meat, good friends and stormy nights. Production: 97 cases. Pacific NW Wine Competition: 91 points.
